Piroctone olamine. how does it really work?

I've been reading up on piroctone olamine. It has the same effects on hair as ketoconazlone/nizoral, such as increase in hair density, hair count, etc but only better.
Now here's the thing. Ketoconazole was found to have an anti androgenic effect when taken orally. But piroctone olamine didn't. In fact no adverse effect was ever reported with piroctone olamine as far as I know.
It is explained in the studies that nizoral may work against aga due to its anti androgenic properties. But now I wonder if that's true. I suspect it may be due to entirely different mechanism.
I hope there is more interest in piroctone olamine. Nizoral itself is supposedly more effective than minoxidil. I wonder how effective piroctone olamine cream/topical is, compared to shampoo form or even propecia.

It's in anti dandruff shampoo. Keeps your scalp clean. I use it as my every other day shampoo when I'm not using 2% Keto twice a week.

I just added some information about piroctone:

What do you guys think the best shampoo is for hair loss? I know there are no shampoos that clinically proven to do anything for hair loss, but what do you guys use? I'm trying to get my scalp in better condition, as it's dry and inflamed. Best, FTL
