Hey,
I recently noticed that my hair has thinned noticeably on the crown. A stranger on the street made the remark "seen your egg-in-a-bun, you absolute mess."
I now check my crown with a vanity mirror several times a day like it's a new obsession. I have bought new shampoo and conditioner that contains argan oil. I have bought a "hair growth serum" that is an essential oil and directs 3-5 drops per day to massage into the scalp. I have had my GP look over some blood samples. So far my B vitamin levels have proved to be low, but there are other screens like thyroid that we're waiting on.
I'm 30 years old and nobody in the family has pattern baldness. Mother, father, brother, sisters, aunties, uncles and cousins all have a full head of hair each. I am not ruling out that I might be the unlucky one member of the family that does go bald. I have never really looked after my hair. I never washed or dryed it correctly. I didn't feed it the good nutrients through my diet. It's always been quite thin and lifeless. The thinning now has my full attention, though, thanks to this comment made to me by an aggressive stranger.
One thing that my family keep telling me is that my hair has thinned because of the way I lay. You see, for years I've been quite slothful and I spent most of the day, everyday, laying on my back with my head against a pillow. Imagine that, for years I've been laying from the AM until bedtime on the laptop with my head rested against the pillow. I didn't think it was likely...but this has been a habit and my lifestyle for years and years.
The hair thinning on the crown is a massive concern of mine and I'm hoping to get it sorted. I've included some photographs.
I got my hair completely shaved for charity back in early May. I got shaved all the way to blade 2.
Here are the images I've taken of my crown:-
