Been on Fin for about 3 months and noticed weight gain?

I have been taking 1.25 MG of fin every morning for the past 3 months. I have had no bad side effects that everyone talked about except I have gained about 7-10 pounds and feel bloated quite often.

Does or did anyone else experience this while on fin?

I've started working out again and eating less but it doesn't really have any effects.

    Any input would be awesome.

    Thanks

Though it is not common side effect of propecia, there are some rare cases where unexplained weight gain is observed, especially around the stomach. Consume a healthy diet that include fruits, vegetables, grains, low-fat milk products, fish, poultry, lean meats and other healthy foods. I would start out with a body weight routine, and forget about weights. Focus on stretching, increasing core strength, and cardio involving high intensity exercise. You can do daily bodyweight routines that don't take more than 10 minutes.
Also, limit intake of unhealthy foods such as cholesterol, salty foods, fats, and excess sugars. If you are taking Propecia and notice weight gain, you should check with your doctor about lifestyle changes.

Yes, it can increase a weight, since finasteride reduces DHT, allowing oestrogen to take over. If you’re worried about this side effect, you should get your hormone level checked whether they’re in normal range or not. If your testosterone is low or oestrogen is high, then you will gain weight more easily. Even thyroid should be done; if thyroid is corrected, it would be easier to lose weight. However, it could be temporary effect which you can reverse after stopping propecia and eating healthy with moderate exercise. In any case, I would speak to my doctor to confirm about the link between two.

According to the clinical studies, finasteride does not cause weight gain. However, finasteride interferes and lowers the androgen levels of the body and may affect body’s fat metabolism in some men.

I'd like to mention that many men suffer from depression because of hair loss. Depression is linked to emotional eating that often leads to extra pounds. Moreover, depressed people are less physically active. These factors can also be connected with weight gain.
